You will be developing, writing, and editing engaging content ranging from social media posts to articles. You are expected to write anything from a social media post to a 500 word article. It is important that you understand key issues and challenges and propose ideas for “newsworthy” content. This will involve gathering input and ensuring that the content has passed internal approvals. You will also schedule resources to create content and be responsible for content management (CMS, Wordpress, DNN, Drupal and social). You will also need to develop and maintain a robust editorial calendar.
COMBACTE (Combatting Bacterial Resistance In Europe) is a European project that comprises three different consortia. These consortia (COMBACTE-NET, COMBACTE-CARE, COMBACTE-MAGNET) were created to meet the challenges of clinical development of antibacterials in response to the worldwide growing problem of antibiotic resistance. In collaboration with other consortia, the projects will enable more rapid and efficient development and commercialization of much-needed new antibacterials.
COMBACTE is built around two international hospital- and laboratory networks. These networks comprise of more than 750 hospitals, 450 laboratories and over 1.000 investigators in 42 European countries. The projects are part of the IMI New Drugs 4 Bad Bugs (ND4BB) program and are funded by the European Union and the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and associations (EFPIA). You are a native English speaker with good Dutch language skills or a native Dutch speaker with excellent English writing skills, and you have a background in life sciences or healthcare and communications/journalism (academic).You have at least three years’ experience in producing web and social media content in an international pharmaceutical and/or medical environment. You understand key issues and challenges, and propose ideas for newsworthy content. You also have excellent writing skills and the ability to translate complex topics into well-written, engaging content. You are able to write, edit and proofread scientific and non-scientific content. You must have good editorial judgment and the ability to quickly build a network of contacts within the COMBACTE consortia. You are familiar with Flash, HTML, Photoshop, SEO and Google Analytics. Experience in AMR and clinical studies would be advantageous. It is a plus if you have knowledge of content digital/content marketing.
The maximum salary for this position (100%) is € 3.476,00 gross per month based on full-time employment (work week 36 hours). This job is based on a temporary position for 1 year.
In addition, we offer an annual benefit of 8.3%, holiday allowance, travel expenses, career opportunities and personal budget. The terms of employment are in accordance with the Cao University Medical Centers (UMC).
