We are looking for a Communications officer to:
- Assist with the implementation of the communication strategies for EUPG projects like COMBACTE and ECRAID-Base.
- Integrate existing key messages and develop new compelling messages and materials (press releases, newsletters, factsheets, flyers, etc.).
- Maintain and uphold brand identity.
- Establish and raise profile on social media.
- Support realization and dissemination of progress and developments coming from the project to stakeholders, such as civil society, private sector and governments through e-media.
- The occasional organization of events, conferences, trainings and meetings.
- Coordinate development of visual content.
- Develop and maintain an editorial calendar.
When it comes to clinical research, this position will give you the opportunity to put forward original content created for a broad European, scientific target audience related to AMR, ID and clinical research. You will present and propose ideas for content to other communication professionals in your team, internal and external stakeholders.
The Communications team is part of the European Project Group (EUPG), That coordinates and leads several distinct EU clincal research projects: COMBACTE and ECRAID-(Base).
COMBACTE is a European project that comprises of four consortia that meet the challenges posed by the worldwide problem of antimicrobial resistance (AMR). In an unprecedented collaboration with private and public stakeholders, COMBACTE enables more rapid and efficient clinical development and commercialization of much-needed new antibacterials.
COMBACTE is built around two international hospital and laboratory networks, comprising of more than 1000 clinical study sites and laboratories in 41 countries. The COMBACTE projects are part of the IMI New Drugs 4 Bad Bugs (ND4BB) program and are funded by the European Union and the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and associations (EFPIA). ECRAID-(Base) will continue and expands on the activities of COMBACTE. At the heart of ECRAID-Base are six perpetual clinical studies. All will mature towards adaptive platform trials, with capability to rapidly respond to public health threats such as COVID-19. This is the core set of activities for ECRAID (the European Clinical Research Alliance for Infectious Diseases), which aspires to become the first of its kind.
Universtity or college degree (with academic thinking) in Public Health, Communications, Marketing or Medicine.
At least 5 years experience in communications in the area of public health (preferable also AMR). Extensive experience in copywriting and a strong proven record in social media management.
You are a native English speaker with good Dutch language skills, or a native Dutch speaker with excellent English writing and editing skills. With your interpersonal abilities, you quickly build strong relationships with a variety of internal and external stakeholders across different sectors. You are a natural project manager with strong analytical and presentation skills. Self-discipline with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team is key. You are familiar with WordPress, SEO, Google analytics, social media management, content marketing and media monitoring. In your day-to-day work you are responsible for developing editorial content for websites, newsletters, social media channels and will play an active role in optimizing findability through online channels.
*Preferable skills in design (InDesign and/or Adobe Illustrator).
The maximum salary for this position (36 - 36 hours) is € 4.200,00 gross per month based on full-time employment.
