One major player in the manifestation of genetic instability is DNA damage, which can be caused either by endogenous or exogenous insults. The successfull candidate will use locus-specific DNA damage systems (e.g. endonucleases, CRISPR-Cas9) in both Drosophila animals and human cells combined with high resolution live tissue imaging, mass spectometry and in-depth DNA sequencing.
