You have a wide range of responsibilities that include policy activities and organizational and administrative projects for the Master’s degree Biomedical Sciences. We are searching for an enthusiastic colleague who is full of initiative, and who is able to function independently as well as in a team. Next to general policy tasks, you will have specific tasks that include, amongst others: formulate and execute policy and plans concerning student communication, maintain the study guide website and the guide for teachers and supervisors, offer logistic support for several general courses on communication, and the organization of the yearly introduction week for students.
The Policy Officer will be appointed at the Department of Biomedical Sciences of the Education Center UMC Utrecht. Biomedical Sciences is part of the Graduate School of Life Sciences (GSLS) of Utrecht University, which embodies various Master's and PhD programmes of the Science, Veterinary and Medical faculty. In total, the GSLS has about 1200 Master's and 1800 PhD students.
You are a team player, with the ability to connect people and processes; Pro-active, able to identify bottlenecks, a solution-orientated mindset.
You have the ability to monitor planning and scope of your own activities; You are result-oriented with a hands-on mentality; You have a strong affinity with University research and education, preferably with knowledge of the degree Biomedical Sciences and the Graduate School of Life Sciences; Experience in a similar job or organization is preferred.
You are enthusiastic, punctual, communicative, and have a strong command of the English language (both spoken and written). Moreover, our ideal candidate also has outstanding organizational and coordinative skills. You are pro-active and full with initiative. You are a problem solver, perseverative but also flexible and frustration tolerant.
The maximum salary for this position (90-100%) is € 4.481,00 gross per month based on full-time employment (work week 36 hours). This job is based on a temporary position for 1 year, with the possibility for an exension.
In addition, we offer an annual benefit of 8.3%, holiday allowance, travel expenses and career opportunities. The terms of employment are in accordance with the Cao University Medical Centers (UMC).
