The postdoc will work on an exciting project with a partnering company, on newly developed CD89 retargeting molecules that the company provides. The postdoc will test in tumor models we have available the efficacy of these new molecules, in a truly translational immunology project that has clear implications to development of new immunotherapeutic approaches. You will use many different techniques, including cell culture, molecular cloning and transfection, flow cytometry, tumor killing assays, and in vivo models for cancer.

Department

The postdoc will be part of the pediatric immunology group of Marianne Boes (https://www.infectionandimmunity.nl/research-groups/details/boes). The Boes group performs pre-clinical research on human immune-mediated diseases, to develop mew immune modulation protocols and to apply new immunotherapies for auto-inflammatory and autoimmune diseases (i.e., juvenile idiopathic arthritis), and pediatric cancers lymphoma and neuroblastoma. The Pediatric Immunology group is embedded in the Center for Translational Immunology (CTI) of the UMC Utrecht.

Profile

We are looking for an ambitious recent PhD graduate in Biology, Biomedical sciences, immunology or a related discipline. A training and certificate to conduct animal experiments is highly recommended. The postdoc will work on an exciting project with a partnering company, on newly developed CD89 retargeting molecules that the company provides. The postdoc will test in tumor models we have available the efficacy of these new molecules, in a truly translational immunology project that has clear implications to development of new immunotherapeutic approaches. You will use many different techniques, including cell culture, molecular cloning and transfection, flow cytometry, tumor killing assays, and in vivo models for cancer. For this project it is important that you have demonstrated affinity with Immunology, molecular biology and translational research. You are a team player, and eager to learn. A professional level of proficiency in English (written and spoken) is recommended. You are able to think analytically, and have problem-solving skills You will work in an enthusiastic group of 10 people, post-docs, technicians and PhD students and you will serve as liason between the Pediaric Immunology group in the WKZ and the Immunotherapy group at the AZU with whom we perform collaborative research.

The maximum salary for this position (36 - 36 hours) is € 4.615,00 gross per month based on full-time employment (work week 36 hours).
