This is a postdoctoral research position. International experience and strong background in innate immune biology and ATMPs are mandatory for the required collaboration. Knowledge handling primary gamma delta T cells, genetic engineering and PCR/Sequencing, computation of the data is required. Techniques are partially established but some also need to be newly developed. This project includes handling with animals and patient material.


You will be working in an international environment in the laboratory of Jürgen Kuball (Department of Hematology and Center of Translational Immunology) at the UMC Utrecht, as part of a highly innovative and motivated team with strong collaboration worldwide.


You are a highly motivated immunologist with strong clinical translational background with a completed PhD in the field of (Innate)Immunology. You have experience with isolating, culturing and studying primary human innate immune cells and translating this knowledge into clinically applicable protocols. As a potential candidate you have an outstanding track record, international experience and fluency in English. As a member of a multidisciplinary team you are expected to be able to communicate with researchers from other fields and be able to build up and organize a research network. Your work will be bridging fundamental discoveries to clinically applicable systems, including the development of relevant pre-clinical models.

The maximum salary for this position (100%) is € 4.615,00 gross per month based on full-time employment (work week 36 hours). This job is based on a temporary position for 2 years.

In addition, we offer an annual benefit of 8.3%, holiday allowance, travel expenses and career opportunities. The terms of employment are in accordance with the Cao University Medical Centers (UMC).


For this 100% post, the maximum salary will be €4.111. This will be a temporary appointment for 2 years with possible extension.
