As a project manager for international public-private research projects funded by the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI), H2020 and other funding sources you are responsible for the day-to-day project management of multiple complex and dynamic projects. For this position, the focus will be on the IMI ConcePTION project (www.imi-conception.eu) and the VAC4EU foundation (www.vac4eu.org) that UMCU is coordinating. Within the organisation we have a small team of junior and senior project managers who you will work closely with. The main duties are: management of assigned projects by ensuring they are executed at the highest possible quality level. You will assure compliance with funding agency requirements, work in close collaboration with the scientific project leader and other team members, as well as other support staff. You coordinate all non-scientific, administrative, financial and legal management of the network and project activities. You maintain an effective communication between the consortium partners, and the EU. You support, monitor and guard a smooth, effective and timely execution of the project plan and its budget. You are able to shift between tasks and easily move from operational to more strategic-thinking level; you excel at keeping an oversight on priorities and demanding schedules. You know when to align with other internal and external stakeholders, but you also know how to deal with external and internal pressure. You thrive in a fast-paced working environment, and you are comfortable dealing with continual changes. You are an experienced communicator, able to communicate effectively both at a team and consortia level.
The project manager will become a member of the project management team working on the IMI ConcePTION, which studies the effects of medication used during pregnancy and breastfeeding to benefit women in making informed decisions about medications used before, during and after pregnancy. S/he will also become an active member of the Secretariat of the VAC4EU foundation, an EU international association which enables robust and timely evidence-generation on the effects of vaccines in Europe in a collaborative manner, for use by citizens, health care professionals, public health organizations and regulatory agencies.

We are looking for a project manager with knowledge of and experience in Horizon 2020/IMI2 projects. You have a minimum of 3 years' experience in project management of complex international research projects in a public/academic setting. We are looking for a colleague with an excellent ability to multi-task and solve problems, who is pro-active and have string decision-making skills, enjoys working in a team, has excellent communication and inter-personal skills. A professional and reliable person who can work in a multi-cultural environment and can establish and maintain harmonious cooperation in complex internal and external setting with diverse stakeholders. Our new colleague has a good eye for detail and is structured and well-organized. Good oral and written command of English is required and of Dutch preferred. You are willing to perform both high and low level tasks in the relevant projects; you are service-oriented towards the academic staff, willing to occasionally travel abroad, to work against the deadlines and towards solutions.
The maximum salary for this position (36 hours) is € 4.615,00 gross per month based on full-time employment (work week 36 hours).
