You will work together within a group giving support to researchers, (PhD, MSc students, etc). You will plan your work and help organizing others. There are possibilities to develop your own projects within our research lines. We do our research in organoids and cell lines to model normal tissue dynamics and their alterations in cancer. We apply several technologies like: standard wet lab (protein, DNA and RNA extractions, western-blot and qPCR, FACS, cloning), and more specific linked to metabolic characterization i.e., Seahorse bioenergetics analysis and metabolomics. You will work in an interdisciplinary team, with experts in imaging, organoid culture, tissue culture, signalling in cancer, cell metabolism and metabolomics.
The Center for Molecular Medicine is a research center that focuses on understanding the molecular and cellular basis of disease. More than 160 researchers perform multidisciplinary fundamental and translational research in relation to various diseases, including cancer and genetic disorders. The aim of the CMM is to train the next generation of biomedical scientists by performing internationally leading, fundamental biomedical research and by offering stimulating and excellent education.
You are motivated to work in a collaborative manner in the field of cancer, metabolism and stem cell research. You are a flexible, well-organized and troubleshooting oriented. You are an outgoing person, eager to help and to learn. You have affinity for organoid work and metabolism. You have experience in wet-lab work and some experience in project development.
The maximum salary for this position (100%) is € 3.280,00 gross per month based on full-time employment (work week 36 hours). This job is based on a permanent position, starting with a contract for a year.
In addition, we offer an annual benefit of 8.3%, holiday allowance, travel expenses and career opportunities. The terms of employment are in accordance with the Cao University Medical Centers (UMC).
This job is based on a temporary position with the possibility of permanent upon positive evaluation. Starting date is August- September, 2020.
